About the project
E-commerce has become an unstoppable force. In the coming years, online sales will continue to grow in importance and have a direct impact on the design of products. I learned the basics of online marketing and how to apply them, how keyword search works and what is behind the terms SEO, SEA. This knowledge enables me to recognize which criteria are crucial for online sales and how I can address them in the design.
1st phase - online marketing
In the first phase, a general understanding of online marketing was developed, how and where customers* buy products online and how this can be used for product development. In addition to the theoretical knowledge, the basics for an own internet presence were taught, what has to be considered for an own web presence and what can be done to be seen online. The goal is to attract the customers that fit you and your ideals.
Phase 2 - Product design
Based on the acquired knowledge about online marketing, in this phase an own product was developed. Special attention was paid to how well this product is suited for online sales or how it can be optimized for this purpose. To check the feasibility of this design, we calculated the cost of production and used this to calculate the selling prices. With the goal of developing an awareness of sales in addition to the design concept.
